Florentijn Hofman

Our friends at ISAK want to make the world a little bit more beautiful. Florentijn wants to make the world a little bit more fun. He certainly achieves it by placing outsized sculptures in public spaces. But he is saying alot more. By painting a derelict building in Delfshaven it became the most photographed building in Rotterdam. A giant rubber duck makes a non-political statement.
We hope Florentijn just keeps getting bigger.

Fly Interflug

After the Jumbohostel at Arlanda airport  comes this more exclusive luxury suite for 2 at Teuge airport in the Netherlands. This 1960s East German Illyushin 18 airliner has alot of history and originally carried 120 passengers to destinations such as Cuba, Russia, Vietnam and China. The suite is fully equipped with sauna, jacuzzi and entertainment suite. The modern white furnishings are cool and clean and contrast with the fully equipped 1960s cockpit. Stricktly no socialising/partying allowed on board or there may be a knock on the door in the middle of the night, and you may never be seen again...

Hundreds and Thousands

Just opened Camper store in Malmö. Design by TAF.
Inspiration by ice-cream with sprinkles.

Has the World become a better place?

A map of the world  seen from a different view. Gapminder is a statistics machine brought to life by Ola, Anna and Hans Rosling. Google snatched it up in 2005 but Hans still heads the non-profit Gapminder foundation.

There are numerous presentations including "Has the world become a better place" , by matching birth rates and child mortality rates. In 1962 the developing world had birth rates of over 5-8 children/woman and 10%-40% child mortality rate. By 2003 most of the developing world has less than 4 children/woman and child mortality rates are less than 10%. Surely this means we are doing something right as we grow into ourselves as humans. It's not all doom & gloom.

Concrete and steel built on nothing more than vanity.

Kids Cave

Need to spoil the kids and give them a place to escape to? Well if you have £1000 to spend then the Nido Nest is just the trick. We love it. Can be used outside but would melt the credit card! Find it at Personal Interior Design .

Rokni Haerizadeh has a wit that comes from distancing himself from the politics and controversy that surrounds his subjects; whether they are Adam & Eve or John and Yoko. He stimulates debate by setting a non-judgmental framework. His works are full of Persian mythology, folklore and history but also urban life, popular culture and commentary. They are open to interpretation, your interpretation of how the work appeals/affects you, whether you are an Iranian revolutionary or a bubblegum socialite. Enjoy the humor and the journey.
